Tender, buttery, and exceptionally lean, our thick-cut Tenderloin Filet gets a simple cast-iron sear and garlic-herb butter finish worthy of a special occasion.

Ingredients
- (1) Prime Filet Beef Tenderloin
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
- Thyme
- (2) Garlic Cloves
- (2 tbsp) Butter
- (1 tbsp) Oil
Directions
- Pat filet dry and season all sides.
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Heat an oven-safe skillet over high heat.
- Add oil and sear the filet approximately 2 minutes per side.
- Sear the edges briefly.
- Add butter, garlic, and thyme.
- Baste the filet.
- Transfer skillet to oven and finish cooking to the desired safe internal temperature.
- Rest before serving.
Recipe Notes:
Because a 2-inch filet is exceptionally thick, use an instant-read thermometer rather than relying solely on cooking time.
